Based out of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, are a vibrant group of 7 professional musicians. This unique group consists of fiddles, mandolin, bodhran, cajone, accordion, banjo, bouzouki, bass, voice, guitar and drums. They have gained an outstanding reputation for their eclectic style and presentation.
Under the direction of Korona Brophy, musician, arranger and teacher, the Celtic Fiddlers, formed in 1993, perform at a wide milieu of international, national and provincial conventions and festivals, local folk festivals and events, celebrations and weddings. Their travels have taken to New York, Ireland, Isle of Man, Ottawa, and throughout Newfoundland.
This year marks the 32nd anniversary of their sharing of music, culture and history. We are proud ambassadors of our province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Their music is of Irish/Newfoundland genre, with a wide repertoire of vocal and instrumental music.
The Celtic Fiddlers are members of the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MusicNL), St. John's Folk Arts Society, ArtsNL, Destination St. John's, and the East Coast Music Association. The Celtic Fiddlers were awarded the Instrumental Artist of the Year for MUSICNL in 2006. Korona was awarded Music Educator of the Year MusicNL 2019.
The Celtic Fiddlers & Co. is a not-for-profit organization that relies on grants and CD production/sales as well as honoraria from performances to assist in travel and further CD production.
So far in 2025, The Celtic Fiddlers have been busy with various performances and events planned throughout the year, as well as planning for their summer tour this August.
In May, Director Korona Brophy was awarded the Stompin' Tom Connors Award at the ECMA's hosted in our hometown of St. John's.
During 2024, The Celtic Fiddlers stayed close to home, visiting places like Dildo Brewing Co. and The Garrick Theatre in Bonavista. They also debuted their Celtic Tides show for the first time in Canada at The Rooms and visited Saint Pierre et Miquelon to perform during the Bastile Day festivities.
To celebrate their 30th anniversary, The Celtic Fiddlers toured Ireland for the sixth time, with stops in Dublin, Cork, Dingle, Killorglin, and Ballingeary.
They also performed at various locations around the province.
The Celtic Fiddlers celebrated their 25th anniversary and released their sixth album, Ready For The Storm, launching it in Portugal.
The Fiddlers traveled to Ireland for their fifth tour, performing at festivals in Dublin, Galway, Tralee, Ennis, New Ross, and Waterford.
The Celtic Fiddlers were formed under the direction of Korona Brophy.
